Ed-Tech: Gamified Assessment

Blooket

A quiz style game where educators can select a variety of themed styled games where learners must answer multiple choice questions to earn points based on correct responses. Themed games include but are not limited to Crypto Hack, Fishing Frenzy or Detective Dinos. Educators can view post game data reports learners aggregate percentages of answers. Free accounts are able to host nearly 60 learners, access to the unique game modes and create or discover their own games (Blooket, 2025).

Gimkit - live learning game show

Educators can create Pacman or AmongUs style games based on laser tag, capture the flag or other themes where they can create assessment questions to give students the energy they need to function in the game. Without answering questions correctly learners can not proceed with competing in the live games. Gimkit offers real time data as well as post game reports to educators based on student performance (Gimkit, 2025a)

While researching, it was found that Gimkit also supports educators through its GiveKit donation program. Through DonorsChoose.org, Gimkit donates $500 in funding every month to educators who apply, helping them acquire ed-tech tools, classroom supplies, and cover educational costs. Educators interested in this opportunity are encouraged to apply via DonorsChoose.org (DonorsChoose, 2025; Gimkit, 2025b).

Boom Cards by Boom Learning - Interactive Lessons by Educators

Boom Cards are self-grading, self-paced digital activities which include various question types, such like drag-and-drop, fill-in-the-blank, and multiple choice which provide immediate feedback to learners. Educators can track student progress with detailed data reports. Boom Learning provides educators with a market place to sell their cards they create. Boom cards can also be found for free. (Boom Learning, 2025).

Nearpod’s Time-to-Climb (feedback)

Nearpod’s Time-to-Climb is an interactive lesson feature that enables educators to create engaging presentations with embedded activities. One feature is "Time to Climb," a quiz-based game where students answer questions to race their avatars up a mountain or other arena. This feature provides immediate aggregate feedback for educators and promotes active participation. Nearpod offers real-time insights into student comprehension, allowing educators to adjust instruction as needed (Nearpod, 2025).
